Nokia 7710 (2004) | Strange Phones | Landscape King

Welcome to another video in my Strange Phones playlist. In this series of videos, I analyze a specific strange design choice or feature on a phone and give you my reasoning as to why such an engineering decision was made. In this episode, we focus on the 2004 Nokia 7710 which is a phone with a strange Taco style design. The Nokia 7710 is known for being the first Nokia touchscreen phone or first Nokia phone with a touchscreen. First and only Nokia with Symbian Series 90 interface atop Symbian OS v7.0s and also the first Nokia with a 2:1 aspect ratio display. Its strange design is focused on landscape use with your thumbs. It can also be used in portrait mode but landscape mode is what its mainly built for. Its really good battery life, large display, extended business functions and apps pre loaded etc, make it a really versatile device for business and multimedia consumption. In Italy, It was sold along with a satellite receiver and was used as the first satellite navigation system on a touch screen mobile phone in the world. Its from a time when Nokia was experimenting with weird designs just like the Nokia N-GAGE, Nokia 3300, Nokia 3300b and so on. It is usually very expensive and is a highly sought after collectors item as it is an extremely rare phone. It obviously predates app stores and downloadable apps and has Nokia's classic interface. Its also considered as a rare collectors item at this age and since I am phone collector with a massive phone collection, having this phone was a must. I will do a Nokia 7710 unboxing but this will definitely not count as a Nokia 7710 review. I will also do a Using the Nokia 7710 in 2022 video or a Nokia 7710 2023 or Nokia in 2023. Also Nokia Symbian in 2023. These are considered rare phones or collectible phones and I am keeping them in my phone collection since they are considered as a vintage phones or retro phones. My collection also includes Nokia Prototypes, Blackberry Prototypes, Motorola Prototypes, Sony Ericsson prototypes, Sony Prototypes, HTC Prototypes, Rare Nokia and other rare developer devices! These phones are no Android 11 or Android 12 powerhouses and It also ain't no iPhone 13 Pro Max, Google Pixel 6, Lumia 950Xl, Lumia 1520, Lumia 1020, Google Pixel 6 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Motorola Edge S or OnePlus 10 Pro but are definitely interesting phones on their own!
