The so called Babari tradition in Macedonia is a pagan tradition where people are wearing scary masks so they can chase away the demons from the people. Babari are actually called the people masked and every year on 14th January they walk on the streets of the cities or towns. The people as gratitude give them small amount of money (usually 10 to 100 denars, or in EUR from 30cents to 1.75EUR).
