This song was inspired by Pavane pour une infante défunte. I think everyone has moments when they find themselves missing the past. Sometimes we become so deeply absorbed in those thoughts that we end up giving up on the present. Just as I envy who I was in the past, I began to wonder if my future self might one day envy who I am today.
