Pritchett Canyon | Brand New Buggy's First Trail | Moab, Utah

Bill’s brand-new V8 Suzuki Samurai buggy finally hits its first real trail… and what better place than Pritchett Canyon in Moab, Utah? After months of late nights in the shop building this buggy from the ground up, it was finally time to see what it could do. We only drove it long enough to snap a few pictures the day before, so Pritchett Canyon became its very first real trail. As if taking on one of Moab’s most legendary rock crawling trails wasn’t enough, the day took an unexpected turn when one of our friends’ side-by-side suffered a catastrophic front-end failure, destroying a portal/knuckle assembly deep in the trail. The adventure wasn’t over there, we still had to tow it roughly 26 miles back to the condo on just three wheels. From huge ledges and technical rock gardens to trail repairs, recoveries, and incredible scenery, this was a day we’ll never forget. This is Part 1 of our Spring Opener 2026 Southwest adventure as we explore some of the best rock crawling destinations in Moab, Utah, Farmington, New Mexico, and Bumble Bee, Arizona.
