Strengthening Exercises After Surgery - Elbow Dysplasia
11 month old Bentley had lameness that wouldn’t go away even with rest and anti-inflammatories. A CT scan revealed elbow dysplasia which required surgery to correct. After surgery, Bentley was having a hard time with ongoing lameness. When he came to the centre, my assessments revealed significant weakness in the muscles around the elbow and shoulder. Weakness in major muscle groups will always leave a dog prone to pain. This video gives you an insight into Bentleys rehab program which I designed to increase muscle mass to support his joints. Ultimately this was the key to allowing pain free movement and returning to normal life after surgery. Engaging in rehab will give your dog the best chance to live a long happy life with minimal joint complaints when they are older! Join the pack and be a part of The Dog Wellness Centre community.
