Why Is Ariel's Voice SO POWERFUL? - Disney Theory

Hey howdy hey how is everybody doing and welcome back to Disney Daily! In The Little Mermaid perhaps one of the most important components to the story was Ariel‘s voice. I mean not only was it the most beautiful thing on land and sea but ultimately it was the key to Eric and Ariel's romance. Her voice isn’t just nice, it possesses the power to affect others and even influence them. I have two examples form the movie that stand out the most. The first is when her signing voice is actually so powerful it awakens Eric after he loses consciousness, after almost drowning at sea. The second example is when Vanessa or Ursula is in possession of Ariel's voice. When she is walking on the beach and Ariel's voice voice starts to serenade Eric it actually possesses him. Now in my opinion, there is no denying that our favorite mermaid has incredible vocals but the big question is how and why was her voice so powerful?
