Example: 🔸 The book is on the table. 🔸 He sat under the tree. 🔹 Types of Prepositions: Prepositions of Time – Show time relationship – at, on, in, since, for, before, after, during Examples: ▪ I will meet you at 5 PM. ▪ She was born in January. Prepositions of Place/Position – Show the position of a person or thing – in, on, under, over, between, behind, beside Examples: ▪ The cat is under the table. ▪ The boy sat between his friends. Prepositions of Direction/Movement – Indicate movement from one place to another – to, into, onto, out of, towards, through Examples: ▪ He went to the market. ▪ The ball rolled into the well. Prepositions of Cause, Reason, Purpose – because of, due to, for, from Examples: ▪ The match was cancelled due to rain.
