Why is Vintage so Appealing? Behringer BMX vs Drumtraks

/ starskycarr   I put the Behringer BMX head-to-head with the Sequential Drumtraks to answer one question: do we actually need to spend thousands on vintage drum machines when modern gear can do the job for a fraction of the price? In this video I cover everything — sampling sounds directly into the BMX, comparing tones with frequency analysis, tuning, detuning, vintage sample-rate pitch shifting, performance controls, and the features that genuinely blow the Drumtraks out of the water. But I also don't pull any punches on the downsides: pad sensitivity, firmware bugs, clicks between samples, and the current SynthTribe app situation that makes loading samples way more painful than it should be. The BMX has 12 sounds, 8 individual outputs, and holds over 2020 more samples than the Sequential — all for a fraction of the Drumtraks' price. So why do I still reach for the vintage box? I try to figure that out too.
