The telerupteur (or electric shock switch) is a control device that allows lights to be turned on and off from several different locations using push buttons instead of regular switches. Pressing any button changes the device's state from off to on and vice versa via an electrical pulse. How a telerupteur works: The device relies on an internal coil and contact points. When the push button is pressed, current momentarily reaches the coil, generating a magnetic field that pushes the contact points, closing the circuit and turning the lights on. Pressing it again breaks the circuit and turns the lights off.
