Mumbai During Monsoon is Beautiful Chaos

Mumbai during monsoon is something else… After being sick for days, I finally decided to step out and explore the city. I started from my taxi ride through some of Mumbai’s most iconic places — BKC, Bandra-Worli Sea Link, the Coastal Road — and then reached Marine Drive. Because of the rain and high tide, the police weren’t allowing people to go close to the platform, so I experienced Marine Drive from the promenade instead. After that, I took Mumbai’s new Aqua Line metro and honestly, I was really surprised by how good it was. From there, I explored CSMT, saw the beautiful colonial architecture, walked around Gateway of India and Colaba, and experienced the real Mumbai — the rain, the crowds, the honking, the energy, the beauty, and the chaos. I was still not feeling 100%, but this day reminded me why Mumbai is such a crazy, beautiful city.
