Zaki (Yakki) Gate Lahore Reconstruction | Lost Mughal Gate Restored | Full Ground Visit

I visited the historic Zaki Gate, also known as Yakki Gate, to cover its ongoing reconstruction inside the Walled City of Lahore. This gate was one of the original thirteen Mughal-era gates built during the reign of Emperor Akbar. Over time, the structure disappeared, its location faded, and only the legends and graves of Pir Zaki remained. Today, restoration work has started, and I recorded the full situation on the ground. In this vlog, I share the complete history of Zaki Gate, its connection with Delhi Gate, and the two stories behind its name. Many believe the original name was Zaki, named after a saint who defended Lahore against Mongol invaders. Others say the name evolved from the “Yakkas,” the one-person carriages parked near this entrance centuries ago.
