Kora Terry Medley... Frank Fux (Berlin 1940 / 4K/ Colorized)
Today's video features a medley of songs from the 1940 musical melodrama "Kora Terry" starring Marika Rökk as identical twins Kora and Mara Terry. Redhead Kora is cold, ambitious and money driven and breaks the heart of the young composer and violinist Michael Varany (Will Quadflieg) and ruins businessman Stephan Borodin (Herbert Hübner). Blonde Mara meanwhile is soft and kind hearted. After Mara accidentally kills Kora during an argument in Egypt, Mara decides to take Kora's place because she needs to take care of Kora's daughter. Tops, the sisters' caretaker takes the blame for killing Kora/Mara and goes to jail. In the end Kora's shady dealings catch up with Mara who needs to convince authorities that she is not Kora... Peter Kreuder composed songs such as "Für eine Nacht voller Seligkeit", "Wenn es Frühling wird" and "Im Leben geht alles vorüber" which became evergreens. The medley recorded by Frank Fux for Columbia is especially exciting because it features the music to Marika Rökk's (in)famous belly dance simply called "Ägyptischer Tanz" (Egyptian Dance). It is the only recorded version I have knowledge of. Frank Fux (born Fuchs / 1902-65) was an Austrian composer and conductor who also recorded as "Frank Fox". Her later Germanized his name to Fux and made several recordings for Telefunken in the 1940s. One of his best-known compositions is "Es klopft mein Herz bum-bum". This video contains sequences from "Kora Terry" which have been restored, upscaled to a 4K resolution and colorized. The colorization procedure is new and largely done manually using Adobe Photoshop, resulting in more natural skin and hair color. The colorization is AI based and NOT historically accurate. It is purely intended for entertainment purposes and gives an impression of what the movie and its stars might have looked like. The software used includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Topaz Video AI. About the record: Frank Fux spielt aus dem Tonfilm "Kora Terry" Columbia D.W 4888 / mx.
