Stokes Inlet Bream Fishing and Camping | Benwenerup Campground

We made it back to WA and our first stop was Stokes Inlet for some Black Bream fishing. The DPaW managed campground is lovely but the price has gone up a fair bit since we were last there and unfortunately, it's getting a bit over the top these days. We hit up Young River the first arvo and we were off to a cracking start but then a big bit of weather came through and we'd left the caravan all open so we high-tailed it back to the camping area, only to discover our awning arm in bits. Thankfully it ended up just being that a gust of wind had yanked a rail out of it's track and it was a super easy fix - so lucky!! The overcast weather hung around so after a bit of rod building the next morning, we headed off to the river again for another go a bit further down. Lots of small stuff around but no keepers this time. We still had a great feed of fish and chips for dinner though, thanks to the previous days haul!
