Surface dressing
The Council is currently carrying out a programme of surface dressing, which is the most cost-effective and least disruptive resurfacing technique for roads. A thin layer of bitumen-based binder is sprayed onto the road surface and stone chippings are spread and rolled into this with normal traffic movements being a vital part of this process. So, where surface dressing is taking place, pay attention to signs, stick to the prescribed speed limit, and drive slowly and carefully over newly surfaced roads. This will improve the quality of the new surface and reduce the possibility of any damage to your vehicles bodywork, windscreen or tyres. Thank you for your help.
