Naomi Waqo Emphasizes Inclusion, Peace, and Progress in Pastoralist Areas

Marsabit Women Representative Hon. Naomi Waqo has urged pastoralist communities across Kenya to embrace population growth, saying population numbers play a critical role in determining political representation, resource allocation, and development opportunities. The legislator emphasized that communities with larger populations are better positioned to secure a greater share of national resources and strengthen their voice in national decision-making processes. She encouraged families to understand the strategic importance of population figures in Kenya's governance and development framework. Hon. Waqo also called on all eligible citizens aged 18 years and above to obtain national identity cards following the government's removal of the vetting requirement for ID applicants. She noted that acquiring identification documents is essential for accessing government services and participating in civic processes.
