June 26th will mark the 50th anniversary of U.S. President John F. Kennedy's famous speech: "Ich bin ein Berliner". The speech, which underlined the United States support for West Germany in the wake of the construction of the Berlin Wall, proved to be a great morale boost for the people of West Berlin.
