This time, we introduce Ise-Shima in Mie Prefecture. It is one of Japan's leading tourist destinations, attracting approximately 10 million visitors annually. We will explore the charm of Ise-Shima with the theme of "What kind of place were Umashikuni (Beautiful Land) and Miketsukuni (Land of Imperial Provisions)?" [Spots introduced in the video] ■ "Yokoyama Observatory". Yokoyama Observatory offers a panoramic view of Ago Bay. Why is Ago Bay a flat area? How was the ria coast formed? We will explore from a topographical perspective where abalone and other creatures related to Miketsukuni inhabit. *The map of the ria coast formation and seaweed beds was created based on the exhibits at the Yokoyama Observatory Visitor Center. ■ "Kunisaki". Kunisaki is a place with a rich tradition and history, having offered dried abalone to Ise Grand Shrine for over 2000 years. Why did they start offering abalone?
