Juneteenth 2026 in Middletown, CT | Parade, Community & Celebration

The Northern Middlesex YMCA had a front-row seat to one of Middletown's most meaningful community celebrations, the 6th Annual Juneteenth Parade and Liberation Day Festival. YMCA preschoolers, youth participants, families, and staff gathered along the parade route to watch, learn, and celebrate alongside our community. From colorful floats and marching groups to music and dancing, the event offered a powerful opportunity for children to experience the importance of freedom, unity, and cultural celebration. At the Y, we believe learning happens everywhere including in our community. Events like Juneteenth provide meaningful opportunities for young people to connect with history, celebrate diversity, and better understand the values of inclusion, respect, and belonging.
