HAMMOCK CAMPING in a SNOW STORM on the APPALACHIAN TRAIL

Winter backpacking on the Appalachian Trail in Maryland with a snow storm barreling down on me! Solo hammock camping on the AT I have a lot of experience but not in these conditions. So I grabbed my pack and hit the trail for an adventure. The snow then ice came on hard but I was cozy in the hammock all night. In the morning I woke to 8 inches of snow and a 1/4 inch of ice. That made postholing out a challenge. I did find Bobcat tracks while exploring a ridge. A bonus the snow brings. In the new year many more backpacking trips will be added to the channel.
