But this is where Eidstaub starts: with the strange feeling that an old voice might still be somewhere in the line, not as bloodline pride, but as pressure, rhythm, stubbornness, road-dust, and argument. Eidstaub is a German modern metalcore album, inspired by the life and works of Oswald von Wolkenstein: roads, oaths, mud, debt, prison stone, foreign bread, sacred noise, mirror-feud, and the last hard residue of a vow. This is not a historical reenactment and not folk metal. It is medieval pressure translated into modern metalcore: drop-C guitars, technical chugs, harsh German screams, clean belted refrains, bells in the distance, and pride dragged through the dirt until only oath-dust remains.
