Upgrading my TT bike based on your comments

Is a €60 secondhand aero wheel worth it for an amateur triathlete? In this episode of my Road to Ironman, I’m upgrading my older secondhand TT bike based on a great tip from the comments. The bike came with a full disc wheel at the back, but the front wheel was still full aluminum and not very aerodynamic. I hit the secondhand market and managed to find a great deal: a 50mm Mavic Cosmic carbon wheel for just €60. Even though I lost some of the footage from the pickup and installation, I’ve got a timelapse of the build and a sweet reveal to my dad (since we share the bike!). I’ve taken it out for a few rides now. Visually, it’s a massive upgrade, but pace-wise? I’m sharing my honest, raw thoughts on whether a 50mm aero wheel actually makes a difference when you're averaging 27-28 km/h. In this video: Acting on viewer advice to upgrade my front wheel. Scouring the secondhand market for a budget aero wheel. Timelapse of the installation and surprising my dad. Honest review: Do aero gains matter at an amateur pace? Dealing with crosswinds on a 50mm deep rim. About me: I am W, a total amateur documenting my journey toward a full Ironman. No pro coach, just research, community tips, and a lot of trial and error.
