Is an Israel-Iran war inevitable?
The latest Israel-Hezbollah clashes in southern Lebanon may mark a significant escalation in the Middle East. On October 1, 2024, Israel launched a limited military operation targeting Hezbollah in south Lebanon, following weeks of rising tensions. This comes after a series of attacks, including the assassination of Hezbollah's long-time leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah. The conflict, long characterised by proxy warfare between Israel and Iran, now risks expanding into a full-scale confrontation between the two nations. Israel's military operations, including technological assaults and airstrikes, have dealt serious blows to Hezbollah, but the group's robust military presence and its backing by Iran suggest that further escalation is possible. This conflict is deeply rooted in a history of regional tensions. Since the 1970s, Iran has supported Hezbollah in Lebanon as a proxy force against Israel. While Hezbollah has grown politically and militarily, tensions between the two sides have surged recently, especially following the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2024. Israeli operations aim to cripple Hezbollah’s military capabilities, but Iran’s involvement signals that a broader Israel-Iran conflict could emerge, marking a critical turning point in Middle Eastern geopolitics. This video explores the potential for these events to ignite a larger, more devastating war in the region. MY LATEST BOOK!
