The Lord Is My Shepherd (Schubert)

The Lord is my shepherd is a setting of Psalm 23 by the Austrian composer Frank Schubert. Schubert wrote hundreds of songs for solo voice and piano during his short life (1797-1828), but this composition is slightly different. Written for four voices - two sopranos and two altos - in close harmony over gentle piano arpeggios, it has an ethereal beauty. Performed by members of the Choir of Hendon St Mary, directed by Richard Morrison, recorded in March 2021
