eCam-Technology – The fifth Generation of WEISS Rotary Indexing Tables

In the new TC-N series with eCam, WEISS combines the advantages of a fixed-cycle cam with a servo motor. Overlapping the cam shortens the overall cycle times. The time required to bring the motor up to speed from a standstill is eliminated by overlapping the cam profile and the movement profile of the servo motor. The rotary indexing table starts rotating without delay. This is how WEISS combines the dynamics of the servo motor with the accuracy and position locking of fixed-cycled rotary indexing tables. By using eCam technology, a rotary indexing table of the same size and speed level can move the same load in less time. For mass production in particular, this reduces the cycle time of rotary indexing tables by up to 25 percent. TC-N with eCam is available as a package consisting of a rotary indexing table, motor, PLC, controller and software. As such, the solution offers users maximum added value. WEISS rotary indexing tables have been proven for decades, but particularly in view of the ongoing digital transformation of machine manufacturing, WEISS presents new features for them. The entire product group of fixed-cycled and freely programmable tables has been redesigned. New sizes extend the existing portfolio and improvements have been made to overall performance. The new generation makes it easier for users to access digitally supported production automation gradually.
