What do the first two chapters of Genesis really tell us about marriage? In this first episode of a marriage preparation series, Father Touche returns to the foundations: the creation narratives in Genesis 1 and 2. He shows how these texts reveal the equality of nature between man and woman before God, their inherent complementarity, and the distinct missions God entrusts to them: to govern creation for the man, and to be a mediator in the order of love for the woman. This teaching helps us understand the true nature of marriage, even before the topic of original sin, which will be addressed in the next episode.
