👉The death toll from the Venezuelan earthquakes has now reached 👉2,595, with 12,400 injured. These figures were provided by interim president Delcy Rodríguez herself at a press conference where she defended her handling of the tragedy. This Friday, protests have been called 👉against her provisional government, which was due to end on July 3rd, the 180th day since the capture of former president Nicolás Maduro. The president asserted that the state's response to the earthquakes was immediate and that there are 👉media interests generating negative public opinion against her administration. This contrasts with the 👉complaints from those affected, who claim they are not receiving aid quickly enough. Delcy Rodríguez has also announced the creation of a $200 million fund with the IMF and US participation for Venezuela's recovery. She has promised housing solutions for the thousands of victims and stated that an account has been opened at the Development Bank of Latin America, which will be subject to the necessary audits. To help all these people, international solidarity continues to arrive from more than 30 countries, in addition to volunteers who are caring for the sick, clearing rubble, and searching through the ruins for survivors. In Plaza Venezuela, in the heart of Caracas, there are dozens of tents where people are living who have lost their homes or whose homes are uninhabitable due to severe damage from the double earthquake.
