The King of Fighters XIV: Team Psycho Soldier Arcade/Story Mode Playthrough [PS4, 2016]

As a certain Devil May Cry song goes... "THE TIME HAS COME AND SO HAVE I..." clears throat Anyways, FINALLY, SNK's big comeback game, The King of Fighters XIV (KOF14) has hit Playstation 4, and I've got my glorious Premium Edition early on today. As you can probably tell, I'm very excited to start my pacings with this game, as Street Fighter 5 admittely left me quite literally 'burnt out' and wound up not being nearly as enjoyable to me as Street Fighter 4 was even in it's vanilla state. For a series that's been on a half-decade hiatus, KOF 14 literally seemed to do all the right desicions in order to create a game that, while not being graphically industry breaking like Tekken 7 or Guilty Gear Xrd, does something a LOT of games are forgetting to do in this age of gaming.... ACTUALLY MAKE A FULL FUCKING GAME PACKAGE WORTH ITS PRICE TAG. clears throat again Pardon me. Some pent up frustration snuck out again... Anyways, KOF this time around has a massive roster of 50 characters, an easier to grasp but yet focused and deep battle system and some of the most fun gameplay I've played since... well... Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, lol. Have yet to test the online, but ever since December 2015 this game's been priming itself to be an amazing fighter for both casual and expert/pro players to dig into, and I feel it's filling the void that Ultra Street Fighter IV left me back in last gen. Ultimately this game is welcoming and a picture of how even if the game doesn't have the biggest amount of gloss on its graphics, it can literally put all of its efforts on the ACTUAL FIGHTING and make the most of its resources; and if you're literally not going to give this game a shot because it 'looks like a PS2 game' and ignore the polished fighting KOF14 has... y'know... a CORE thing that makes a fighting game a FIGHTING GAME... then, well, I find it hard for you to call yourself a fighting game fan in the first place. For this video I crack open the game for the first time and decide to run through the single player mode as the 'original' Team China, which is now Team Psycho Soldier; consisting of the iconic Athena Asamiya and her just as staple teammates, Sie Kensou and Master Chin Gentsai. Since this is me just learning 14's ropes (since none of these characters were in the demo) the game play is 'OK' but not amazing, but hey, it's literally first boot and hour one, but trust me, I'll be on this game a LOT... Time to "BURN TO FIGHT!" Game: The King of Fighters XIV (new PS4 release today!) Team Used: Psycho Soldier (Athena Asamiya, Sie Kensou, Chin Gentsai) Game Difficulty: 3 (out of 5, default) Time: 60 (default) Continues: None (though Verse [Final Boss] totally did throw me off at the end... Poor Athena... Still got through him in one go, he may be about the same standard difficulty as 00's Clone Zero. Just don't sleep on him.) P.S.: Why am I NOT surprised that the first opponent I face is my mirror team... and why am I ALSO not surprised my very first bout is Red Athena vs. her Blue twin...? I love my luck.
