His High Schooling was from Pakistan Steel Cadet College, he went to the US to study Food Sciences, However, his passion for arts eventually took over and lend him to switch to fashion design, photography, and art in general. Yousuf moved from Lincoln, Nebraska to Los Angeles in 1997, where he was soon noticed by Hollywood for his unique skill of combining his heritage with a very contemporary gesture. This led him to work and learn from the industry giving him great insights into the business of fashion. He worked with major brands which helped him gain experience, understand and learn about his subject in particular and art in general. In 2004 Yousuf moved back to Pakistan on the wish of his best friend, his late grandfather, Zahir-ud-din Qureshi.
