The Messiah is a 2007 series directed by renowned Iranian director Nader Talebzadeh, which depicts the life of the Prophet Jesus (PBUH) in the light of the Quran and Hadith. In addition to The Messiah, it is also known by other names such as "Jesus:Good Tidings of the Savoir Jesus" (Jesus: Good Tidings of the Savoir Jesus), "Jesus:The Spirit of God" (Jesus: The Spirit of God) The series is not based solely on the four traditional Christian Gospels; rather, it incorporates the Quran, Hadith, and the Gospel of Barnabas. From an Islamic perspective, the Gospel of Barnabas is considered closer to the true teachings and true history of Jesus (PBUH). The series stars Iranian actor Ahmad Soleimani Nia as Jesus (PBUH). Many Islamic organizations and researchers have referred to the series as an attempt to present the true history of Prophet Jesus (PBUH). The series shows two different endings – one from the perspective of the Christian Bible and the other from the light of the Quran. According to Islamic belief, Prophet Jesus (PBUH) was never crucified; rather, Allah Almighty raised him alive to the sky and he will return to earth before the Day of Judgment.
