It is my pleasure to introduce our new SuperFlyer firmware package. This package is meant to extend FPV and flight range to the H501S. It comprises: FC 1.1.22, RX 1.2.12 and TX 4.2.9. I have listed a full instructional guide below, as well as the official Hubsan upgrade video. My own video was vetoed, so :(. Still, this should do the job and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me or kevin_gotta_bomb. The firmware upgrade process for the high edition transmitter model is the same as listed below. THE EXCEPTION IS THE TRANSMITTER. Please DO NOT UPGRADE the transmitter. ONLY upgrade the (FC) and (RX) for the FPV1 model.    • Hubsan H501S firmware upgrade video tutorial   Basically, there are three components to a full drone upgrade. You need to upgrade Flight Control (FC), Receiver (RX) and Transmitter (TX). Even though the numbers might vary from tutorial to tutorial, you can always see if the file begins with “FC”, “RX” or “TX/RC/HRC-FPV”. Also notice that there are two different upgrade tools: FC Upgrade Tool V2 and Upgrade Tool V2. The former is for the FC firmware upgrade and the latter is for RX and TX (FPV2 only). Keep this in mind. Before you attempt any upgrade, download and install the CH341SER driver also uploaded in the Google Drive link. Select and run the file inside the folder DVRSETUP64. This will help the tools and firmware downloads run on your computer. Now onto the main show! You will need: an Android Mini USB and a Type A to Mini B USB. Flight Control Upgrade: 1) Make sure you have an Android mini USB cord ready. Open the rear hatch of your drone and find the little port- connect your drone to the computer with this port and the cord (no need to connect battery to the drone). 2. Open up the HUBSAN FC UPGRADE TOOL V2. 3. As soon as the bottom of the upgrade tool shows 'connected', click “Open File”. Look for and select the file 'H501S-FC-V1.1.22.hbs'. Hit upgrade. 4. Once it reaches 100%, you will hear a USB unplugged sound from your computer, wait for it to automatically connect back again. 5. When it has connected again, click on show version and check whether it shows H501S-FC-V1.1.22.hbs. RX Upgrade: 1) Make sure the transmitter and drone are off. You'll need to connect the transmitter to your computer with a Type Mini B USB. 2) Hold the Video key (FPV2 or the standard transmitter) or the Enter key (FPV1 or the deluxe transmitter), and pull the aileron stick to the bottom left corner of its socket. Hold both and switch on the transmitter. 3) The screen should now say "Upgrade RX Mode V2". If it does, initiate "Upgrade Tool V2" and go to the first step listed on the Program. Click "Connect"- and let the tool find your transmitter. 4) Once the tool has found your transmitter, you should see the screen say, "Upgrade RX Mode, Power on RX". Go ahead and connect the drone to its battery. 5) Go to the second step listed on your screen and select the file "H501S-RX-V1.2.12.hbs". Once you have done so, go ahead to step three and click upgrade. These directions must be followed completely, or the upgrade may fail. If it does, start all the way from the beginning. After you upgrade any part of your drone, you MUST DO THE FOLLOWING: First, calibrate your transmitter. Make sure your transmitter is switched off at first for this. Transmitter Calibration Procedure: 1) If you fly in Mode 1, hold both sticks to the upper right hand corners and switch on the transmitter. If you fly in Mode 2, hold both sticks to the upper left hand corners and switch on the transmitter. 2) The screen should say "Calibrate Transmitter, Mode __". If this shows up, then pull the sticks up, down, left, right to their fullest extents- and do this twice, to be sure. When you have done this, long-press any trim on the transmitter- and it should beep. 3) If this does not happen, repeat the process after shutting down the transmitter again. If everything is successful, you should see the screen return to operating mode. Then, you will need to REBIND your transmitter to your quad.
