Is Puruṣottama Māsa and Kārtika Māsa NON Bonafide devotional practices??? or is ISKCON Founder Acarya Srila Prabhupada Mis-Represented? Puruṣottama Māsa and Kārtika Māsa: Non-Bona Fide Practices??? Or a Misrepresentation of Śrīla Prabhupāda, Guru, Sādhu and Śāstra? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Puruṣottama Māsa and Kārtika Māsa are bona fide Vaiṣṇava observances grounded in scripture, affirmed by paramparā, and accepted by Śrīla Prabhupāda. To dismiss them as illegitimate or unnecessary risks substituting personal opinion over guru, śāstra, and disciplic succession. After careful deep reflection, deliberation, prayer, and consultation with senior devotees, I feel compelled to raise a serious concern for consideration to avoid deviation. HG Bhakta Janardana Prabhu is a respected devotee whom I hold in great personal regard. My intention is not criticism, but concern for preservation of established devotional standards within our community. According to śāstra and the ācāryas, observances such as Puruṣottama Māsa, Kārtika Māsa, and Ekādaśī are important and supportive practices in bhakti. When such observances are discouraged or not facilitated, it raises serious concern among devotees regarding the preservation and continued adherence to established devotional practices. It is deeply concerning that Puruṣottama Māsa passed without meaningful observance of this sacred transcendental period. Through a concerted effort to avoid facilitating even simple offerings such as ghee lamps, the devotional community was effectively deprived of the opportunity to properly honour and observe this auspicious month. The serious concern is that this same mentality may gradually extend to other important spiritual observances, including the upcoming Kārtika Month. I sincerely declare that my intent is free from malice or personal agenda. This has been raised solely out of concern for ongoing spiritual standards and the welfare of the community; hence I present this before my Deities in remembrance of my responsibility to Guru Srila Prabhupada and Kṛṣṇa. If any offense has been caused, I sincerely ask forgiveness. My only desire is to serve Śrīla Prabhupāda, Guru, and śāstra loyally and without deviation.
