Los dos ciegos de Barbieri y Une éducation manquée de Chabrier
French operetta was an inspiration to Spanish composers and librettist, who adapted numerous works to this context. A good example of this practice is Barbieri’s short farce Los dos ciegos (1855), which is based on an operetta by Jacques Offenbach. The vitality of French operetta is clear in Emmanuel Chabrier’s Une éducation manquée (1879), a work Emmanuel Chabrier premiered in the same form in which it was performed at the Fundación Juan March. Francisco Asenjo Barbieri (1823-1894): "Los dos ciegos" Lyric-dramatic Entremés in one act and two scenes, libretto by Luis de Olona Emmanuel Chabrier (1841-1894): "Une éducation manquée". Operetta in one act, libretto by Eugène Leterrier and Albert Vanloo Rubén Fernández Aguirre, musical director and piano. Pablo Viar, stage director.
