In 1998, Juna, a young man who had just lost his job, decided to return to his hometown. However, midway through the journey, his bus broke down on a deserted road in the interior of Central Java. With almost no money, Juna chose to walk in search of a place to rest. Behind a hidden dirt road, he discovered an ancient, seemingly peaceful village. The residents were friendly, led by the elder Jayengrana, accompanied by the kind-hearted Mbah Wiratman, Mak Ranti, the owner of a simple food stall, and Nono, a young man who invited him to work in the rice fields. The longer he stayed in the village, the more Juna began to realize that many things were strange. There were no vehicles, no radios, and no strangers. Every night, entire villages disappeared without a trace, while all visitors had to follow strange rules.
