O Segredo dos Power Pads: Aceleração, Frenagem e Por Que Você Precisa Deles

In this video, I show how I install and fine-tune my power pads on my electric unicycle, as well as the control board I added to my setup. Correct adjustment makes all the difference in riding and safety. How I adjust my Power Pads: I prefer to leave the power pads a little further apart. This allows me to have a greater body inclination while riding. Keeping my body too straight on the unicycle creates instability, so this extra space is fundamental for my balance. The front pad is in contact with my shin for acceleration, and the rear pad is activated for braking. The Jump Pad Lock (Foot Support): I like to keep the jump pad very tight. It locks both the front of my foot and my ankle and shoe into the rear pad. The main objective of this configuration is to prevent my heel from lifting. This way, all the energy and leverage I generate isn't lost: it's transferred directly to the unicycle, resulting in much more power and immediate response in acceleration and braking. The Importance of Connection and Safety: Riding without being clipped in is risky. If you only have your foot on the pedal and go over a bump at speed, the impact will throw you upwards and you will be ejected from the unicycle. When you use the power pads adjusted this way, your body is locked to the equipment. If an ejection situation occurs, your body ends up pulling the unicycle into the air, preventing disconnection. This ensures that you don't lose contact with the wheel, providing much more confidence, control, stability, and safety to accelerate and overcome obstacles. Watch to see the step-by-step setup in practice!
