Cliffe Pools is a remote area which many frequent for walking and bird spotting. There are many trails of varying lengths which offer spectacular views of the pools, the wildlife, and the Thames. Cliffe Fort is a disused fort built in the 1860s to protect the entrance of the Thames. it stands on the bank of the river at the edge of the Cliffe marshes/pools on the Hoo Peninsula. Its location on marshy ground caused many issues problems which changed its design as it started to crack and subside during construction. Pureplanet Cafe is situated on the Eternal Lake reserve. It is open everyday between 08.30 and 17.30 although the kitchen closes at 15.30. Pureplanet Cafe serves tasty and healthy food which includes biodynamic coffee, organic vegetables and ingredients with vegan and gluten free options.
