The Baron was a Belgian aristocrat. When the mission was done, he sent his wingman home to continue on a personal mission alone. The Baron had heard that the Gestapo had captured and ended the life of his father...and now he was out for revenge. His plan was exceptionally daring. He was to fly over the rooftops of occupied Brussels and shoot the Gestapo building with his Hawker Typhoon. This was a personal vendetta unsanctioned by the Royal Airforce. A brave action that was to lift the spirits of the citizens of occupied Belgium and strike fear into the German oppressors.
