Selección de Irán llegará a Tijuana con visas pendientes para el Mundial 2026

The Iranian embassy reported that the Iranian national team will arrive in Tijuana in the early hours of Sunday, June 7. However, there is still concern because of the 70 people in the contingent, only 55 have received visas to enter the United States, while 15 are still pending. It has not been specified whether these are players, coaching staff, medical personnel, or support staff. According to the report, the visas granted would allow them to enter and leave the U.S. on the same day as each match, so the team will remain in Mexico. The Iranian delegation will be based in Tijuana, with Estadio Caliente available for training and two floors reserved at their hotel. It was also reported that there will be a special security operation at the border, with the participation of the National Guard and the Mexican Army, while FIFA will maintain control over access and measures related to the team during the World Cup.
