There is no memory, which is good for a headlamp with a bunch of modes and two buttons. It always switches to the first mode for both low and high beams. Powered by a replaceable 18650 battery that can be recharged via USB in 3 hours and 20 minutes from full charge. A 3500 mAh battery is included.
