Aurélie Desreumaux and Laurent Granier invite us to discover a country and its culture through its most intimate lens… a wedding. Weddings, vibrant and visually stunning celebrations, are a concentrated dose of culture, traditions, and rituals. What better opportunity than a wedding to discover a country, its history, its religion, and its current trends? Aurélie and Laurent travel to Cape Verde, an archipelago off the coast of Senegal, to attend the wedding of Aldino and Mira on the volcanic island of Fogo in San Felipe. They met at the age of 13 in church. Laurent and Aurélie share in the wedding preparations: the dress, the hairstyle, the rings, the church ceremony, the music, the fireworks, and the meals, including cachupa, a traditional corn-based dish, and the famous Cha, the wine made on the island.
