2016 Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) 1st Runner-Up - Palompon, Leyte

Congratulations to Palompon, Leyte for winning First Runner-up in the 2016 Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) National Search for Outstanding Coastal Community. CITATION In promoting the idea of shared responsibility, Palompon has long been implementing sustainable policies on fisheries management. With regular and extensive consultations, the municipality continues to involve its stakeholders in various conservation efforts. Palompon will receive fisheries livelihood support worth 8 Million Pesos, a plaque, certificate and trophy as reward for its extensive consultations, sustainable policies on fisheries management, and idea of shared responsibility in protecting the marine environment.
