The Chinese state-owned auto giant Dongfeng does not lose hope of gaining a foothold in the Russian market. Recently, the brand presented two very different, but at the same time very similar crossovers - Dongfeng Mage and Dongfeng Huge. The first is a typical Chinese view of a car for a modern metropolis, where the sharp lines of the hood and complex sides are designed to attract attention, and the cabin is not without a vertical 14.6-inch tablet and a transmission selector in the form of a crystal. With a length of 4.65 m, Dongfeng Mage corresponds to the dimensions of the GAC GS4, Geely Atlas and Jetour Dashing models. Dongfeng Huge is noticeably larger and similar in size to Chery Tiggo 8 and Haval F7. The flagship model also looks calmer, and the cabin has enough physical buttons and a massive gearbox handle. However, despite the design differences, the crossovers are technically very close and are based on the same DSMA platform, which is a licensed copy of the French CMP platform. The only engine is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. On both Dongfengs, it develops almost two hundred forces and works in tandem with a seven-speed "robot". The drive is always front. It is curious that the declared acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour is the same for the SUVs, although the larger Huge is a hundred kilograms heavier. Sales will begin before the end of summer, but prices and trim levels have already been announced, and thanks to unconditional discounts, you can immediately subtract from 240 to 300 thousand rubles from the price list. Each model is offered in two trim levels. The basic equipment includes electrically adjustable driver's seat, air conditioning, panoramic roof, heated steering wheel, front seats and washer nozzles. Mage is equipped by default with an electric drive for the fifth door, and its flagship brother - with a 360-degree video review. Especially for the Russian market, the bodies were cataphoretically galvanized, and in the senior trim levels there are additional safety systems and pleasant extras like an ottoman for the passenger in the Huge and a smart watch with a key function in the Mage.
