Triplet Galop Quadrille

This is my choreography, based on the first and third figures of "The Triplet," a 3-part quadrille published in London by Edgar Webster, and also recorded by Charles Durang in his Fashionable Dancer's Casket, 1856. When I did an exact reconstruction of Webster's Galop Quadrille in 1983, dancers found that they couldn't remember all ten figures, so they requested that I create a version that could be remembered. 19th century dance masters often choreographed their own quadrilles, and modified others, so I adopted this tradition, following the precise 1850s choreographic conventions, including the chorus concept used in Webster's Triplet Polka Quadrille. Danced here at the Twelfth Herzen Ball, Historical Society Triumph, in Kirov, Russia. Music: Schomberg Galop by Charles d’Albert. Recording by the Fleeting Moments Waltz & Quickstep Orchestra.
