Solstice @ Bodenburg Butte

The Butte, Alaska stair hike is a well-known hiking experience especially on Summer Solstice and 911. Otherwise sturdy locals regularly utilize the trail. I prefer the stair side but there is also an alternative steep side too. Round trip is 3.0 miles. Views from summit; North has views of Arkose Ridge and Bald Mountain Ridge. South facing is the Chugach Mountains. Look Southeast and the Knik Glacier comes into view. The Knik Arm is to the west into which flow glacial rivers from all over the state.
