7:30 and 17:00 are where something new kicks in. This is a slow tweaking of encoders to slowly change things (or sometimes not). A random Cross FM sound from the SH-4d, a simple 90s-ish hip hop / vinyl-style beat, and a lot of Torso S-4 buffer abuse. The beat was kept mostly intact, with only a small amount of S-4 processing. The main synth part came from the Cross FM model, sequenced by the OXI One as a randomised three-note pattern across eight steps in a Byzantine scale, with octave randomisation around ±18%. After recording it into the S-4, I locked the Mosaic buffer in Position mode, pitched it down by 7 in Dorian, added random pitch movement, and experimented with reverse grains at different amounts. Running it in 100% send mode created a separate processed layer against the original source. It is an odd combination, but the point was just to explore, push the setup, and stop on whatever caught my ear.
