Shinmachida Kaido. The road, as it's commonly called, is actually called the Aihara-Tsuruma Line. As the name suggests, it connects the area near Aihara Station to Tsuruma, or present-day Minamimachida. It runs parallel to the Machida Kaido and occasionally overlaps with it. While most sections are unfinished and unable to fully utilize their potential due to the congestion on the Machida Kaido, it's an interesting road in many ways, so we'll take a look at what's happening along the way.
