Something about SARTI-GREECE,so much about SITHONIA beaches One of the most popular and most visited places in Nothern Greece is located in Halkidiki,on east coast of Sithonia and 140 km from Thessaloniki. Most of the approximately 1200 permanent redidents live in the left part of the place,which is unofficially called Old Sarti.You will be able tofind everything you need in Old Sarti,so:Sarti has several well-stocked markets,two exce;;ent bakeries,two doctors where knowing only Serbian language will be enough for you.One but well-stocked pharmacy,lots of different stores,souvenir shops,street entertainers and to my taste best gyros in Greece. Except for street vending machines and a large amusement park Sarti also has a great park for children next to the beach,so you will enjoy while your children take care of themselves… In the old part of Sarti there is a church dedicated to the Mother of God,where the icon of the Mother of God is kept,which the locals brought from their ancestral homeland,Asia Minor,when they settled in Sithonia. New Sarti is in the right half of the place and is characterized primarily by the accommodations of the newer generation but also a much calmer atmosphere,because except for one market and a few beach bars and restaurants there is no other content and you will also easier find parking place… There is a promenade along the entire beach perfect for morning jogging and also evening walks. One of the most common photographs from postcards from Sarti is a beautiful view of the third finger of Halkidiki and 2033 m high Mount Athos. Sarti has no local market but 8 km south in Sikia every Saturday you can find best Greek homemade products.
