KTM Duke 390 - Valve Check / Shim Adjustment

Full video of the Valve Check and Shim Adjustment I've done to my 2024 Duke 390 (2023 Model year) This was the first valve check as specified by the manual done a tad earlier at 9k miles rather than the 9.5k specified by KTM To avoid taking the timing chain off I've used a few zip ties to tie the chain onto the camshafts. Then gently moved the camshaft aside to swap shims over. The exhaust valves were within spec at 0.15, on the edge of the spec but fine to go for another 9k miles. On the other hand the 2 intake valves were very tight at 0.06 while spec should be 0.10 to 0.15 Both were reshimmed and adjusted to 0.11/0.12 and 0.13 Safe for another 9k miles :D #motorcycle #motorbike #ktm #biker #motorcyclelife #duke390 #ktmduke #motorcyclemaintenance
