While Magic the Gathering has multiple vocational creature types, one of the earliest introduced was knights in Alpha. Even with the “soldier” and “warrior” creature types competing for design space and members, there have been hundreds of knights printed throughout the course of the game’s history. The former “paladin” creature type was even eventually combined with the knight creature type under the latter’s name. Knights have seen a renewed stint of design focus since Throne of Eldraine, yet knight focused decks have yet to really make a competitive impact.
