Northern Cape: Kathu residents up in arms over relocation
A group of residents from Dingleton, near the mining town of Kathu in the Northern Cape, says they refuse to be bullied by the iron ore mining giant Kumba, in selling their houses for next to nothing. Kumba needs the land to start new mining operations. It started relocating communities from Dingleton, to the newly built Siyathemba a few years ago. 96% of the residents moved but some twenty households are still holding on.
