It premiered in 1991, gained popularity, and has been performed many times. Now, 30 years after its premiere, a new "Mademoiselle Mozart" is being produced by Toho. Asumi plays Mozart, who was born a woman but raised as a man to utilize her musical talent. Asumi, who served as a top star in the Takarazuka Revue and has since appeared in numerous popular works, including the NHK morning drama "Ochoyan," captivating audiences with her translucent beauty, will take on her first original musical since leaving the company. The role of Salieri, who is both hostile and drawn to Mozart, will be played by Genki Hirakata, a talented musical actor known for his strong singing ability and beautiful stage presence; the role of Constanze, Mozart's wife, will be played by Yuuki Hana, a former top musumeyaku (leading female role) of the Takarazuka Flower Troupe, who was Asumi's top partner during her time in the Takarazuka Revue and has charmed fans with her lovely appearance and moving acting skills; and the role of Schikaneder, a man of many talents including actor, theater manager, and scriptwriter, will be played by Keita Furuya of Lead, who has been active not only in music but also in a wide range of stage productions in recent years.
